The ideas that fuel the Sound-Train
Unique sound-character links for association and retention
Sound-Train uniquely has a different attractive and memorable character, like Poppy Peg, for each sound. This helps children to associate, memorise and reproduce sounds when needed. It also starts the children associating sounds with real life items.

Linking phonics with literacy for improved reading and spelling
Teaching phonics by linking sounds with both visual character cues and text creates a link between different sounds and letters from an early age, including often difficult non-standard sounds and spellings.
Start with speech sounds for fast natural development
Sound-Train was designed by linguistic experts and experienced phonics teachers to work with children’s natural instincts for making speech sounds and developing them into words. by starting to guide these sounds in preschool experiences, we make children’s phonic development faster and more natural from an early age.
